Outdoor Date Ideas
For anyone who's dating right now (or open to the possibilities), you'll want to keep reading!
There are so many ways going outside can make dating more fun and memorable, which is why we made a list of some of our favorites to (possibly) inspire your next outdoor date!
Make a camping meal at a local park.
Breakfast and coffee, or a dinner with a sunset view-- both are fun options to learn more about how you like to cook outdoors and can give you some camping feels (without the overnight, if you're still determining if that's something you want to do together).
Have an outdoor movie at a park or backyard.
While it would be exciting to have a projector, it's optional! It can still be fun to bring a laptop or tablet and set up an outdoor movie experience. Bonus points for bringing movie snacks!
Go on a walk to somewhere you love.
Whether it's trail or pavement, make sure you'll still have service or will be on a well-populated trail, especially the less you're familiar with the person you're dating (and we *do not* recommend going somewhere isolated on a first date if you've only ever connected with this person online).
Learn something new together!
Meeting up knowing that you'll do an outdoor activity to learn more about the environment (like plant identification, knot tying, or stargazing) could be a great way to start a new hobby together while finding out more about nature.
Rent a piece of outdoor equipment that's new to one or both of you.
You'll learn a lot about one another by learning together and trying something new (or seeing what it's like for one of you to have to teach the other something). Communication, courage, and teamwork will all be tested and built through a date like this! So-- tandem bikes, anyone?
Volunteer outdoors together.
A volunteer project could show you both the values you share! Whether it's a park clean up, planting trees, or fostering a dog for the day to take them hiking, this date will be all about making memories.
